All should arrive at Foresters House which is on Swiney Way in Nottingham (NG9 5HA) between 1000 hrs and 1030hrs. The gate to Foresters House will not be manned before 1000 hrs. Leave the M1 at Junction 25 and turn east on the A52 ( Brian Clough Way) following signs for Nottingham. After just under 2000m you will hit a roundabout. Here you should turn right down Toton Lane. After approx 1000m turn left at a set of traffic lights into Swiney Way. You will see , almost immediately , a large Tescos on your right and a TA Centre on your left. Outside the TA centre is a large piece of earth moving equipment and a Harrier Jump Jet. You will be met at the vehicle gate just beyond the Harrier.
Everyone will park within the TA centre and from there the programme will be as follows:
- 1000hrs Coffee in the Officers Mess of Foresters House
- 1030hrs Exhibition of some unique items from the Sherwood Foresters archives by Mr Eddy Edwards Assistant Museum Curator
- 1100hrs Whole group into five cars only for drive down to Nottingham Castle where the Castle authorities have allowed us to park within the grounds
- 1130 hrs Guided tour of Castle grounds including Albert Ball Memorial and new Nottinghamshire VC Memorial by John Cotterill
- 1200 hrs Into the Castle itself ( admittance charges have been waived for the Guild) for a guided tour of the Sherwood Foresters Museum by John Cotterill
- 1300 hrs Walk down to the oldest pub in the country – “The Olde Trip to Jerusalem”, in the bottom of the rock on which the castle stands, for lunch
- 1430 hrs. Back in the five cars from the Castle to Foresters House to collect remainder of cars
- 1500 hrs Disperse from Foresters House
